Precise Robotic Camera Arm for Broadcast Studios

The robotic camera system fulfills the requirements of leading broadcast studios regarding steady and defined camera work, silent operation and ideal cost efficiency.
In recent years newscasts have evolved from simple reporting in a static environment to interactive and dynamic entertainment. The creation of a modern and appealing studio design is improved by the camera robot. The system is distinguished through compatibility of virtual reality, silent performance and an easy to use graphical user interface.
This ensures continuos production in top quality.

Functionality

The main component of a robotic camera system is a modified robot arm including a control software that has been designed for daily use in broadcast studios. The system can be controlled by a single person within the prodution control room. Already recorded movements can be triggered by one click or even fully automatic. New camera movements can easily be recorded, existing ones can be changed effortlessly.

The Robotic Camera System for Broadcasting Automation consists of:

  • Robot Camera Arm The camera robot is based on various industrial robots, modified for the use in broadcasting studios. These modifications ensure flexible usage of the robot in nearly any studio environment.

  • Basis for the Robotic Arm  The robotic camera arm can be mounted on a standard base on the ground or on the ceiling. For more flexibility the working area of the robot can be extended with an up to 20 meters (65'7'') long linear rail on the ceiling or the ground.

  • RoboKam Atelier  This software package includes a graphical user interface and is the point of intersection between operator and robot. Here robot movements can be created and modified. The software can be used with up to twelve robotic camera systems at once.

  • Cosrobe The myriad of distinct systems and manufacturers is the biggest obstacle for the efficient and reliable studio operation. The solution: Cosrobe by rtleaders, the powerful middleware for studio integration. The broadcasting robotic camera system possesses a variety of software features. Additional optional features complete the system according to individual requirements.

  • Camera System software package enables real-time motion control of camera movements and is the core piece of the system. It controls all devices in the studio environment.
